Three Thing Thursday

1. Tonight we were supposed to have a family date night, but Chad had to go pick up my little buddy from preschool this morning because he was throwing up. I came home early to relieve him so he could get to a meeting. Ryan did fine all afternoon until just a little while ago. I could tell he wasn't feeling quite right...good thing too because he was sick again. So Chad and SB are on a daddy-daughter date instead.

2. I'm getting my house decluttered and organized. It's not horrible...I'm no hoarder. But I love bringing order to our home, and I love the mental space it frees up for me. I used to try and do the FlyLady thing, but I get overwhelmed by it. I'm using the routines from there though, and now I'm adding the Home Storage Solutions 101 52-Week Home Organization Challenge. I like it because it focuses on one small area each week. I didn't start at the beginning of the year, but somehow, we had actually done the first couple of challenges before we even knew about the challenge. I'm almost through with the kitchen and hope to be completely done with it by the weekend...just one drawer and two cabinets to go!

3. I have started scrapbooking digitally. I love it! I can't tell you how good it feels to be getting my pictures scrapbooked. It is awesome to be able to do a page or two without dragging out all of my crafting supplies. My plan is to really clean out my scrapbooking closet, saving only the things I think my kids will use in their crafting, so I can set up an office-like area there. I will probably save a lot of things, but I should be able to relocate things to higher shelves and save the desktop for workspace. It's going to be a time-consuming project, but one I know will be worth it.

  1. Yay for organizing projects! I'm an anti-clutter bug and love to organize. If only I had a little more time.

  2. Clutter-free home helps maintain a clutter-free mind. I've got a long list of things I want to work on this weekend, but I need some storage bins to organize a bunch of 'zones'. We'll see how much gets done since I won't go to the store until Sunday. BUT, since Mike is gone for the next 2 weeks, if I can get what I need on Sunday, then it's 'open season' on clutter for the next 2 weeks. :)
