Three Thing Thursday

1. Busy, busy, busy day...week, whatever. We've got soccer practice for one kid and a program for my nephew to get to this evening. I'm thinking it sounds like a McDonald's kind of night :)

2. I'm trying out an online calendar program called Cozi. I haven't quite figured out what to do with it...I've entered all our spring time craziness, but unless I log in, I don't see it again. It is cool because it's color-coded for our family, and I love that! I don't know if I can merge it with my phone calendar. That would be awesome. I'm just not that techish.

3. And since I'm thinking of calendars and planning and general busyness, I need to work out some sort of training plan. I don't have anything but virtual races on the agenda, so there's not really any goal out there. I have a vague idea of what I'd like to keep up as far as mileage goes, but that's it. Any ideas? I'm limited on races in the spring because of the kids' soccer and tball schedules. Summer in Texas is crazy hot and races are limited. Fall seems like a long way off to plan a race and training plan around.

  1. If you don't like Cozi, you could sign up for a Google account. They have an online calendar system (you can color code) and they are pretty compatible with smartphones.

As for your training, why don't you just work on maintenance. Do your 4/6/8/10 plan and then use this time to add some cross-training. Maybe work in the strength training or a day of biking. I know you and if you put it on your schedule, you'll get it done. Try just making a 4-week plan and then just reuse it each month so you can save yourself time by not having to create a new plan each month!

  2. I actually have a Google account because we got new phones and had to. I've played around with it, but it doesn't color code on my phone, only online.

As for the strength training or cross training...I've put it on my schedule...and don't do it. I have some sort of mental block against it :)
